How many web pages will I need?
To work out how many pages you will need, make a list of the topics within your site, or draw a site map.
The Done for You package website includes 7 web pages, 1 standard form and 4 modules (News Manager, Catalogue Manager, Polls Manager and Gallery Manager).
You can use all 7 pages, the standard form and all 4 modules, if you wish. You can choose the names for your pages. Here are some examples.

Can I have more than seven web pages in my site?
Yes, we can add more pages to your website. Please tell your Melbourne IT consultant how many pages you will need and request a quote.
Adding Features or Functionality

We can add custom features or functionality to your site. Please talk to your Melbourne IT consultant about your requirements and request a quote.
Can I change the standard form?
You can choose one of the three standard forms that are included in the Melbourne IT Done for You package. When website visitors complete the form, the information entered will be sent to you via e-mail.
If you would like to change any of the fields in the form, or would like to change the way that the form works, please talk to your Melbourne IT consultant about your requirements and request a quote.
Changing the Appearance of Your Site
Can I choose the template for my Melbourne IT website?
Yes, you can choose one of the Melbourne IT templates.
This demonstration site was created using the 'Market - Red' template.
Can I make changes to one of the Melbourne IT website templates?
We can customise the design and layout of one of the templates for you.
If you would like to
- make changes to one of the templates, or
- have a template custom-designed for your business, or
- take a design someone else has created for you and use it for your own Melbourne IT site,

Can I choose the style, size and colour of the fonts in my site?
The style, size and colour of the default fonts in your site are pre-determined by the website template you've selected. That is, each website template has its own set of default fonts.
If you want to change the default fonts in the website template, we will need to customise the template for you. Please talk to your Melbourne IT consultant about your requirements and request a quote.
Someone has already created a site design for me. I'd like to use this for my own Melbourne IT site. Can I do this?
We will need to see the design to check that it can be adapted to the Melbourne IT Site Builder (Content Management System). Please talk to your Melbourne IT consultant about your requirements and request a quote.

The Content for Your Site
You will need to supply the text and images that you would like to include in the content area of your web pages, as well as your company logo. To submit this information, your first step will be to complete the Content Collection Wizard.
Can you write, proofread and edit the text for my site?
Our website designers can build your website and add the text that you provide. If you would like to have someone write, proofread and edit the text for your site, please talk to your consultant and request a quote.
Can you find images for my site?
Our website designers can add the images that you provide. If you would like us to find and buy images on your behalf, please talk to your consultant and request a quote.
I don't have a logo. Can you create one for me?
We can create a basic text or simple logo. If you would like to have a more comprehensive graphic logo created, this can be arranged separately. Please talk to your consultant and request a quote.
Editing Your Site
Which parts of my site will I be able to edit?
You will be able to add and edit the text, images and hyperlinks in the content area of your web pages. You will also be able to change the names of your web pages and add your company logo to the site.
You will not be able to edit the website template.

How can I learn to use the Melbourne IT Site Builder to edit and update my web pages?
Once we have built your site, we will send you a User Manual. You can also watch instructional videos by clicking on 'Need help?' within your Site Builder.
If you have any questions about using the Site Builder after your site has been completed, you can call Website Production for support.
Getting Started
| Once I've bought a Melbourne IT website, how do I get it up and running?
You will receive an e-mail with a link to the Content Collection Wizard (pictured on the right). By filling out the Content Collection Wizard, you are submitting your company details, the content of your website and the website template you've selected to our production department. After we've received your website content, the production department will contact you and begin the process of building your website. Will the company information I enter into the Content Collection Wizard be visible on my website? No, these details are for administrative purposes. If you want to display this information on your website, it can be added to one of your pages (e.g. your Contact Us page). Can I change the information that I submitted via the Content Collection Wizard? Yes. After a designer has been allocated to your account, you can resubmit the information via e-mail. |
